About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of an international shipping company with regional offices in Cyprus, is seeking a Head of HR & Recruitment to join their growing team in Limassol. This role involves leading and overseeing the company's HR strategy, people operations, and employee experience. The Head of HR & Recruitment will provide strategic leadership across various HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, learning and development, organisational culture, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant field and possess a minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR leadership role within the shipping sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and motivate the HR Department
- Develop, implement, and improve HR policies and procedures
- Improve the organizational structure to support company goals and expansion
- Improve the recruitment strategy and oversee the hiring process
- Work with the Operations Team to identify staffing needs
- Foster a positive work environment and address employee concerns
- Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and professional development
- Ensure compliance with European labour laws and regulations
- Manage HR-related risks and serve as primary contact for labour authorities
- Develop and implement performance management systems
- Lead initiatives for employee training and development
- Partner with leadership on succession planning and career development programs
- Design competitive compensation packages and manage payroll, benefits, and incentives
- Ensure transparency and compliance in compensation matters
- Work closely with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives
- Provide guidance and coaching to the organization on HR matters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related field
- Master’s degree or HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, etc.) is an advantage
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR role
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an HR Manager within the shipping sector is essential
- Strong understanding of European labour laws and employment practices
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong leadership, team coordination, and people motivation abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Proficiency in HR software and systems
- Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills an advantage
