About the Role
CareerFinders is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a well-established company in the dairy products sector in Cyprus. The successful candidate will support the finance and accounting department by daily recording financial transactions, processing invoices and payments, maintaining accurate accounting records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end financial procedures. This role requires an academic background in a relevant field and approximately 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, coupled with strong knowledge of accounting principles, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping.
Responsibilities
- Processing and recording supplier and customer invoices
- Assisting with accounts payable and receivable
- Recording payments and receipts and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Performing bank and supplier statement reconciliations
- Following up on outstanding invoices and routine account queries
- Maintaining organised financial documentation and filing
- Assisting with expense records and preparing basic financial reports
- Supporting month-end procedures and other accounting tasks as required
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field will be considered an advantage
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with bank reconciliations, invoices, payments, and bookkeeping
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good command of Greek and English
