About the Role
CareerFinders is seeking an Assistant Consultant for a well-established Financial Services Consulting Group in Cyprus. This role involves participating in Regulatory Audits to assess compliance with applicable legislation for regulated firms, with a focus on areas like AML/KYC, MiFiD, and EMIR. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Risk Management and relevant experience in the financial services sector. Fluency in both Greek and English is essential. The successful candidate will join growing Regulatory & Compliance Assurance teams based in either Nicosia or Limassol.
Responsibilities
- Participate in desk-based Internal Audits focused on regulatory compliance of CIFs and other regulated firms
- Obtain broad compliance-related knowledge in regulatory frameworks (AML/KYC, MiFiD, EMIR, Funds, PSPs)
- Assess the level of compliance of CIFs practices/operations with applicable legislation
- Review adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and quality of operating performance of CIFs
- Undertake sample compliance checks on Client Identification, Due Diligence, and AML controls
- Monitor the existence of policies of CIFs as required by Law
- Assess data/information/evidence received and draft Internal Audit Reports with findings/recommendations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Risk Management, or related discipline
- Relevant work experience in a corporate environment or financial services sector highly desirable
- CySEC Certificate (Basic or Advanced) considered a plus
- Excellent command of English and Greek, both verbal and written
- Team spirit, excellent problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to study and develop
- Dynamism and ability to deliver results timely
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office applications
