About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of their client, an established Law Firm in Limassol, is seeking a Corporate Lawyer/AML Compliance Officer for a dual role within their growing team. The successful candidate will manage various corporate legal matters and ensure continuous review of relevant laws and regulations to maintain compliance with AML requirements. The firm is looking for individuals with a law degree, full membership in the Cyprus Bar Association, and at least 5 years of experience in both corporate law and compliance. Fluency in Greek and English is essential, and relevant AML certifications are highly advantageous. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is offered, including a competitive base salary, 13th salary, medical insurance, and provident fund. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 18:00.
Responsibilities
- Handle the formation and registration of companies in Cyprus and other jurisdictions
- Coordinate with registered agents overseas for registration and dissolution of foreign companies
- Handle and administer all KYC and due diligence procedures
- Update internal databases on clients, UBO's and other matters
- Arrange for the execution, certification, and legalization of documents
- Deal with execution of changes in company structure (shareholding, directorship, share capital, name change)
- Submission of annual returns and other annual requirements, including UBO register filings
- Liaise with clients, external regulators, and professional advisers (lawyers, auditors)
- Draft corporate and other documents such as minutes, resolutions, agreements, powers of attorney
- Roll out and delivery of comprehensive ongoing training to all staff on AML/TF
- Continuous review of all related laws and regulations for AML compliance
- Responsible for all mandatory reporting to the regulators
- Screening/ onboarding of new clients and parties
Requirements
- University law degree (LPC or LLM an advantage)
- 5+ years experience as a corporate lawyer and compliance officer
- Member of the Cyprus Bar Association
- AML certifications highly desirable
- Good working knowledge in Company formation and maintenance
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Experience with AML and KYC procedures
- Good communication skills in English and Greek
- Strong business communication skills
- Accurate and good attention to detail
- Proactive approach to work
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to develop detailed policies and procedures
