About the Role
The Data Analyst will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of the client’s port cost spending patterns, developing financial models, analysing market trends, and identifying opportunities to enhance competitive advantage while maximising revenues and cost savings for the client and its customers. The role is focused on providing accurate financial insights into the port cost marketplace, creating analytical tools, and supporting strategic business decisions through data-driven analysis. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of financial knowledge and data analytics skills, preferably gained within a Big 4 or similar professional services environment. For candidates based in Limassol, the role is fully on site. For those based outside Limassol, one remote working day per week can be accommodated.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial analyses, including revenue, cost, and profitability assessments to support business performance evaluation
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities to assist strategic planning
- Perform detailed variance analysis between actual and forecast/budget, identifying key drivers and risks
- Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis and business decision-making
- Collect, clean, and analyse financial and operational data to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Review port cost spending trends and identify trends, patterns, and performance drivers, translating data into actionable business insights
- Support the company and its customers with ad hoc analysis to evaluate performance and efficiency improvements
- Contribute to improving the company’s data quality, structure, and governance across the organisation
- Prepare regular management reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards for the company and its customers
- Design and maintain dashboards and visualisations using BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, data analytics, or advisory roles
- Professional qualification (ACCA / ACA) completed or in progress is essential; CFA progression will be considered an advantage
- Previous experience within a Big 4 firm or a recognised professional services firm is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of financial modelling, performance analysis, and reporting frameworks
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is highly desirable
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial and data insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
