About the Role
The Cyprus Institute (CyI) is a European non-profit, science- and technology-oriented educational and research institution based in Nicosia, with five research centres (CaSToRC, STARC, EEWRC, CARE-C and STeDI-RC). The STARC Centre is hiring a Django Full Stack Developer, full-time, at the Athalassa Campus in Nicosia, within the research software engineering team of APAC Labs. You will design, develop, test and maintain modern web applications using Django and Python, with a focus on Digital Cultural Heritage. The rank (Junior Specialised RTS or Specialised RTS) depends on qualifications and experience. Initial appointment: 12 months, renewable depending on performance and funding. Starting salary: €30,361.11 gross per year (Junior Specialised RTS, CYI3.1) or €37,688.69 (Specialised RTS, CYI4.1). Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain web applications using Django and Python
- Build responsive interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap
- Build RESTful APIs with Django REST Framework
- Design and optimise PostgreSQL/MySQL databases
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field
- Good Python knowledge and experience with Django
- Understanding of object-oriented programming
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Bootstrap
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Preferred: Django REST Framework, Docker, Linux, Celery/Redis, authentication systems
