About the Role
Our client is a technology company operating in the maritime and aviation sectors, delivering a broad range of technology solutions. This Head of Enterprise Architecture role is responsible for shaping and overseeing the company's overall architecture strategy, spanning business, applications, data, integration, platform, cloud, and security. Acting as the senior architectural authority for the organization's key transformation programme and shared digital capabilities, the role ensures that business and product strategy are translated into clear architecture roadmaps, standards, and reusable design frameworks. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on enabling delivery rather than creating bottlenecks, providing teams with practical guidance, resolving cross-functional design decisions, and maintaining consistency across products, platforms, and systems. Applications from candidates currently based outside Cyprus are also welcome, and remote work options are on the table.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the platform is architected as a coherent, composable, secure, scalable, and data-driven maritime platform
- Own the company's enterprise architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, reusable design patterns, technology guardrails, and architecture governance model
- Lead the Architecture Review Board and own the Architecture Decision Record process
- Act as final design authority for enterprise-wide shared platforms, reusable capabilities, and cross-domain architecture decisions
- Advise product roadmap prioritization, delivery sequencing, build-versus-buy decisions, and technology investment options
- Establish and mature the company's enterprise architecture function, including its charter and operating model
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, guardrails, and reference architectures
- Own the target architecture for the platform and its shared platform capabilities
- Provide architectural direction for identity and access management, legacy integration, data foundations, and cloud/platform services
- Define the company's enterprise data and integration architecture, including canonical data models and API standards
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience across enterprise, solution, application, data, integration, cloud, or platform architecture
- Proven experience defining architecture strategy for complex digital platforms
- Experience establishing or maturing an enterprise architecture function or practice
- Experience with enterprise low-code platforms (e.g. Mendix) is a plus
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Strong experience with API-led integration, event-driven and distributed architectures, data platforms, and modern application architectures
- Experience modernizing legacy environments and integrating old and new technology landscapes
- Experience operating in agile, product-led delivery environments
- Strong knowledge of architecture governance, design authority models, standards, patterns, and Architecture Decision Records
- Ability to translate complex technical trade-offs into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders
