About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of their client, a long-established Investment Firm with a diverse investment portfolio including real estate, agriculture, trading, and information technology, is seeking a Junior Accountant. Based in Nicosia, this role is crucial for maintaining financial health and supporting the company's strategic goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial record-keeping, reporting, compliance, and analysis. Applicants should possess a degree in a relevant field, be Part-Qualified (ACA/ACCA) or hold an LCCI Higher accounting certification, and have a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting or audit. Fluency in both Greek and English is essential. An attractive remuneration package, hybrid working options, and flexible hours are offered.
Responsibilities
- Maintain books and records for a portfolio of group companies
- Deal with complex accounting transactions
- Prepare and submit VAT and VIES returns
- Conduct internal or external audits for financial accuracy and compliance
- Ensure adherence to IFRS and Cyprus Tax Department regulations
- Act as a liaison with auditors and local tax authorities
- Perform ad hoc data analysis
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Partly-Qualified ACA/ACCA or LCCI Higher
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience in Accounting/Audit
- Deep understanding of complex financial transactions, adjustments, and reclassifications
- Strong Analytical skills
- Good Knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of VAT and Cyprus Tax (advantage)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent command of Greek and English
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure
