About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of their client, a provider of Audit, Tax, Accountancy and Advisory services, is seeking a Junior Client Accountant to join their growing team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for maintaining and updating accounting records and bookkeeping entries for a portfolio of clients. Applicants should be educated to degree level in a relevant field, with partly qualified ACA or ACCA members encouraged to apply. Experience with accounting software like Cycom, Esoft, SAP, CaseWare, or Navision is an advantage, and excellent English communication skills are essential. Knowledge of additional languages such as Greek or Russian is a plus. An attractive remuneration package, including a 13th salary, performance bonus, flexible hours, Friday afternoons off, and paid parking, is offered.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating accounting records and bookkeeping entries for a portfolio of clients.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
- Performing VAT, tax compliance, and regulatory filing work.
- Reconciling bank accounts and ledger balances.
- Communicating with clients regarding accounting and compliance matters.
- Liaising with government authorities including Tax, VAT and Social Insurance Departments.
- Supporting senior accountants on various client assignments.
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Partly qualified ACA or ACCA candidates will be considered an advantage.
- Prior experience in a relevant position is desirable, but not essential.
- Excellent command of English; additional languages such as Greek or Russian will be considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
- Experience with accounting software such as Cycom, Esoft, SAP, CaseWare or Navision will be considered an advantage.
