About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of their client, a trusted technology partner serving over 500 clients in Cyprus and abroad, is seeking a Junior ICT Engineer to join their expanding team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will provide technical support, assist with IT system maintenance, and learn to manage various IT infrastructure tasks. Working closely with Senior Engineers, this role involves assisting with system installations, troubleshooting, and IT service management to ensure the smooth operation of both internal and client IT systems. Applicants should possess a degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, ideally with at least 1 year of experience in an IT support role. A basic understanding of hardware, software, and networking principles is essential, along with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for internal staff and external clients, assisting with basic hardware, software, and network issues
- Respond to support tickets, diagnose problems, and assist in troubleshooting IT issues, escalating more complex issues to senior engineers as needed
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and setup of IT systems
- Help monitor and maintain network infrastructure
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge
- Continuously expand knowledge of IT systems, best practices, and industry standards under the mentorship of senior engineers
- Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to deliver high-quality IT services
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the completion of IT-related projects and tasks
- Maintain accurate documentation of all support and maintenance carried out
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 1+ year of previous experience in an IT support role is highly desirable
- Basic understanding of hardware, software, and networking principles
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to assist technical users
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to project goals
- Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise under the guidance of senior engineers
- A proactive approach to managing tasks and support requests
