About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of their client, an established engineering company specializing in design and manufacturing solutions for the dairy and food industries, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Nicosia. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams within the Technical Department, focusing on designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical solutions for dairy processing and food manufacturing equipment. This role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with 1+ year of engineering experience, including internships. Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD and 2D drafting software, along with a solid understanding of mechanical systems and design principles, is essential. Fluency in both Greek and English, written and verbal, is also required.
Responsibilities
- Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for dairy processing and food manufacturing equipment
- Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with full parametric design methodology
- Support prototype builds, functional testing, and validation of new designs
- Perform mechanical engineering calculations (structural, thermal, flow, etc.) to support design decisions
- Generate and maintain BoMs, technical documentation, and revision-controlled drawings in accordance with company standards
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, automation, production, and installations) as well as suppliers and contractors
- Ensure projects meet timeline, cost, and quality objectives
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting design optimizations and efficiency gains
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 1–4 years of engineering experience (internships, thesis projects, or industrial placements will be considered)
- Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD and 2D drafting software
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and design principles
- Strong calculation skills (stress analysis, tolerances, thermal and flow fundamentals)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability with attention to detail
- Fluent in both Greek and English (written and verbal)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
