About the Role
As a multinational group of companies, our client is a key established employer bringing ongoing value to global, regional and local operating companies in the Process Industries. Providing consulting and engineering advisory services, specialised technology and advanced process-system solutions within the hydrocarbons, chemicals, metals and power-generation industries, the successful candidate joins experts in this field. We are now seeking an experienced Plant Manager to assume responsibility for the overall management and delivery of a wastewater treatment plant within this Group. The successful candidate will ensure the uninterrupted, safe, compliant and cost-effective operation of the facilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that operation of the works continues uninterrupted.
- Liaise with the company and community liaison groups and report on progress and legislative compliance.
- Ensure compliance with notification requirements and resource consents.
- Ensure all activities comply with statutory and legal requirements, particularly health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Report the performance and budget of all activities to the company.
- Ensure the satisfactory operation of the facilities.
- Establish appropriate operating standards and ensure that operational procedures are implemented and followed.
- Report the plant’s compliance with regulatory requirements to the company.
- Ensure that the facilities operate within the approved budgetary requirements.
- Ensure operations comply with the company's requirements.
- Ensure operations are conducted safely for staff and the environment, including appropriate emergency-response arrangements.
- Maintain a Complaints Register.
- Organise tours for the general public and specialists.
- Ensure all Quality Assurance System procedures are implemented by staff and lead the facilities towards successful third-party certification.
- Ensure all Operations Staff are fully trained to follow the procedures and plans forming part of the Quality Assurance System.
- Manage the human resources of the facilities, including selection, interviews, performance assessments, training-needs evaluations, supervision and liaison with unions where appropriate.
- Prepare the operations budget and operate the facilities within the approved parameters.
- Negotiate purchase agreements for chemicals, parts and services and liaise with suppliers.
- Ensure non-conformances are documented and managed according to the Quality Assurance System.
- Ensure preventive and corrective actions are effectively implemented according to the Quality Assurance System and that completion is reported to the company.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Project Manager or Contract Manager.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in wastewater plant operation with a minimum capacity of 25,000 cubic metres per day.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering is essential.
- Satisfy the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber, ETEK, Law 224/1990, or hold an equivalent recognised professional registration from an eligible country, together with a valid annual licence.
