About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of their client, an established Retail Outlet providing candle-makers with top-quality wax and candle-making supplies, is seeking a Procurement & Supply Chain Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality candle-making raw materials, negotiating with international and local vendors, managing lead times, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Applicants should ideally be educated to degree level in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, and possess proven work experience as a Procurement Officer, Purchasing Agent, or Supply Chain Officer. Sound knowledge of international sourcing, shipping terms (Incoterms), and vendor evaluation practices is essential, with experience in manufacturing, chemicals, or B2B product sourcing being an advantage. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is a must. The role offers an attractive remuneration package, including a 13th salary, with working hours from 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and evaluate potential global and local suppliers for raw materials
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Place purchase orders, track shipments, and liaise with freight forwarders
- Monitor stock levels and forecast demand to prevent stockouts or over-purchasing
- Review supplier invoices, maintain accurate purchase records, and prepare cost analyses/budget reports
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to inspect incoming shipments and address discrepancies
- Continuously assess supply chain risks and identify opportunities to streamline procurement
- Accurately input new product data into SAP Business One and update ERP for inventory sync
Requirements
- BSc in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer, Purchasing Agent, or Supply Chain Officer
- Strong knowledge of international sourcing, Incoterms, and vendor evaluation practices
- Experience in manufacturing, chemicals, or B2B product sourcing (advantageous)
- Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software (SAP Business One advantageous)
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Solid analytical capabilities for market trends, cost-benefit analysis, and budget management
- Fluency in both Greek and English (written and verbal)
- Sharp negotiation tactics and exceptional organizational skills
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset
