About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of their client, a well-established provider of Advisory, Assurance & Tax services, is seeking a Senior Client Accountant to join their growing team in Limassol. Reporting to Senior Management, the successful applicant will be responsible for handling various accounting and bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a relevant accounting and bookkeeping role and be fluent in English. Education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar field is preferred, and experience with accounting software is an advantage. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is offered.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out accounting and bookkeeping work for a portfolio of clients
- Maintaining the general ledger
- Carrying out monthly bank and supplier statements reconciliations
- Preparation of periodic management accounts
- Submission of VAT, VIES returns
- Carrying the payroll function (preparation of payslips, calculation and payments of Social Insurance, GESY and PAYE)
- Liaise directly with clients via email and phone
- Assisting with audits and resolving discrepancies
- Keep informed about current legislation relating to Cyprus Taxation
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar fields is considered an advantage
- Holders of, or those working towards a professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply
- Approximately 3+ years of experience in a relevant accounting and bookkeeping role is a must
- Knowledge and application of IFRS’s, VAT and Payroll principles
- Experience in audit and/or tax advisory is a plus
- Experience using an integrated accounting software
- Strong Attention to detail
- Good command of English (both written and verbal)
