About the Role
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a leading specialist in virtualisation and associated server and storage technologies, is seeking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer to join their growing team in Cyprus on a fully remote basis. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for providing second-line technical support via the service desk platform, telephone, email, and remote support tools. In this role, you will handle complex incidents and service requests encompassing deployment, configuration, maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, and proactive monitoring with a focus on core infrastructure technologies. The ideal candidate brings comprehensive experience across Windows server and desktop environments, virtualisation platforms, storage solutions, and ITIL-aligned support practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide second-line technical support via service desk platform, telephone, email, and remote support tools
- Support complex incidents and requests including deployment, configuration, maintenance, patching, and monitoring
- Resolve incidents and service requests in a timely and effective fashion
- Own escalated tickets through to resolution, ensuring clear communication and documentation
- Use RMM, monitoring, and diagnostic tools to identify issues proactively and respond to alerts
- Liaise with third-party vendors for technical information exchange and escalation progression
- Follow established procedures and ITIL-aligned processes across all service operations
- Promptly escalate incidents and service requests while capturing all diagnostic details
Requirements
- Strong experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems and domain services
- Hands-on experience with on-premises and cloud virtualisation platforms
- Understanding of storage technologies including SAN/NAS, RAID, and backup platforms
- Familiarity with update, upgrade, patching, and remediation processes across diverse platforms
- Good knowledge of common Microsoft 365 administration components
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls
- Skilled in the use of remote support tools for monitoring and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned processes for incident, request, problem, and change management
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with methodical investigation techniques
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with users, colleagues, and vendors
