About the Role
CareerFinders is seeking a Shipping Officer for a leading Global Shipping Agency in Limassol. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of shipping activities, covering due diligence on customers, procurement of supplies and services, and monitoring the performance of third-party providers. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Shipping or a related field, combined with over three years of relevant experience. A strong grasp of shipping and port operations, along with fluency in both Greek and English, and excellent coordination skills, are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to enquiries from customers, principals, and vessel captains
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of port and customs requirements
- Provide accurate advice on vessel and port operations
- Conduct due diligence checks on customers in line with company procedures
- Supervise and coordinate the procurement of supplies and services
- Monitor and evaluate third-party performance
- Support the Personnel Logistics team in preparing documentation and coordinating crew changes
- Collaborate closely with the Port Operations team to prepare documentation and monitor services
- Maintain accurate disbursement files
Requirements
- University Degree in Shipping, or similar is desirable
- 3+ years’ experience in a related position
- Understanding of shipping and port operations
- Fluency in both Greek and English
- Ability to effectively use MS Office 365 applications
- Strong organizational, good coordination and multitasking skills
- Team player, adherence to deadlines and able to work under pressure
