About the Role
The Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company (CHC), the National Oil & Gas Company of Cyprus, is seeking a Technical Director reporting to the Board of Directors. This is a fixed-term (3-year) role with renewal option, responsible for the overall technical management of the company and for leading its technical strategy as CHC expands its in-house technical capability across the hydrocarbon field lifecycle and energy transition activities.\n\nRef: CHC-2026-5. Responsibilities
- Overall technical management of the company and execution of its technical strategy
- Leading the engineering team through Assess & Concept Selection, FEED and project execution
- Recruiting, developing and mentoring a multidisciplinary technical team (geology, geophysics, reservoir, subsea, process and safety)
- Primary engineering liaison with international licensees, operators, JV partners and authorities
- Overseeing reservoir simulation and structural modelling toward third-party certification of reserves
- Reviewing and approving major engineering designs, budgets and timelines
- Ensuring compliance with local, European and international regulation, including environmental and safety aspects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree as a minimum; a discipline relevant to the hydrocarbons sector is an advantage
- Minimum 20 years of experience in oil and gas related activities
- At least 7 years of managerial experience in hydrocarbons development and production
- Experience in offshore deep gas development projects is desirable
- Experience in petroleum engineering (subsurface field development) is preferable
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of Greek preferred
- Proven experience leading, inspiring and coaching teams
