25% — "Minds in Cyprus" (Art. 8(21B))
25% of gross, capped at €25,000/year, for 7 years. For employment starting on/after 1 Jan 2025. Requires: not Cyprus tax-resident for 7 consecutive years prior, and full-time employed outside Cyprus for 36 of the 84 months before. Replaces the old 20% rule for new applicants.
50% — High earners > €55,000 (Art. 8(23A))
50% exemption on employment income, for up to 17 years. Requires annual gross above €55,000 AND not being Cyprus tax-resident for 10 consecutive years prior. Available for first employment on/after 1 Jan 2022 (with grandfathering for 2016–2021 hires).
20% — Transitionary (Art. 8(21A))
20% of gross OR €8,550 (whichever is lower), for 7 years. For first employment after 26 Jul 2022 where the 50% threshold is not met. Requires: not Cyprus tax-resident for 3 years prior and previously employed outside Cyprus.
